Meal Mates Information
The meal mates program has been running since 2013. The program is designed to connect volunteers with clients of Meals on Wheels, in a way that fosters friendship and care.
The program is multi-faceted, it helps those people who may be socially isolated or would just love some company. We found that both the volunteer and client benefit mutually by participating in the Meal Mates program.
By checking in with our clients we can provide a higher level of welfare support. If a volunteer notices that the health or well being of a client is somehow suffering, it can be reported back to Meals on Wheels for immediate follow up and a referral to the appropriate service.
